OVERVIEW
|
The
industry’s first and only hybrid profiling system, the SSI
model CS9500 Multiple Purpose Profiler, merges the best
features of lightweight and high speed profilers into a
self-contained, professionally engineered trailer. Weighing
less than most lightweight profilers, the CS9500 can be
towed behind a small terrain or golf cart style vehicle for
early testing of freshly paved surfaces and easy maneuvering
within the tight confines of construction sites.
Alternatively, equipped with a custom built suspension and
SSI’s high speed profiling system electronics, the CS9500
can be towed behind a truck or car to collect surface
profile data at speeds up to 70 mph, with a low end speed of
5 mph. The CS9500’s only connection to the tow vehicle is a
12V power cable, which attaches easily to a power supply
point on any tow vehicle. Or with an optional generator,
the CS9500 offers its own power supply and is then a 100%
self-contained profiling system that can be towed behind
any lightweight
or high speed vehicle. The CS9500 trailer is designed as a
“street legal” platform that can be titled, registered and
plated as a DOT compliant trailer under motor vehicle agency
regulations.
The data
collection system on the CS9500 is operated via a wireless
interface on a touchscreen display that the operator
controls from the driver’s seat of any tow vehicle. The
Windows software modules for calibration, data collection
and analysis feature on-screen instructions that have been
designed for ease of use by operators who need not be
engineers or computer experts. The system generates
commonly used ride indices such as IRI, PRI, RQI, RN, and
other commonly used expressions of surface quality. With
SSI’s proprietary data filtering methods, localized
roughness is precisely captured both in its longitudinal
location and height dimensions—with accuracy that is
unmatched in the industry. The CS9500 meets or exceeds DOT
test methods and certification requirements, including TxDOT
1001-S and AASHTO PP51-02.
SSI’s inertial
profiling systems meet or exceed DOT agency test methods and
certification procedures. SSI’s equipment has passed the
certification requirements of the
Texas Department
of Transportation,
as administered by The Texas Transportation Institute.
