Sidewalk Compliance with Disability Access
SSI can assist municipal governments or their consultants in assessing sidewalk compliance with disability access criteria. The US federal government has led development of planning and remediation mandates for sidewalk compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Automated Measurements – CS8900 Access Profiler
SSI’s CS8900 Access Profiler automates the manual processes previously used to measure sidewalk attributes, including evenness, cross-slope and running grade (forward slope). The CS8900 also stores a continuous profile for reporting expressions of sidewalk rollability.
Add GPS, GIS & Camera Images
The sidewalk data files include GPS position integrated with the surface measurements, which can be exported for use with (Geographic Information Systems) for use in third party applications (such as ESRI ArcGIS). Optional camera images at configurable intervals is available.
Motorized Collections – CS8600 Ultralight Profiler
SSI is developing a motorized solution for ADA Access criteria in the SSI 8600 Ultralight Profiler. Release of this device is estimated for the third quarter of 2016.
SSI’s Access Profilers are designed to measure disability access under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) (29 U.S.C. §794), Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) (42 U.S.C. §§ 12131-12164), and associated regulations.
