SSI Software

We take very seriously the feedback from our user group that includes hundreds of heavy civil and paving contractors, transportation agencies, consulting engineers and researchers. The current core program—SSI Profiler 3—is stable, robust, and rich in features. Profiler 3 is a master program with embedded modules for collecting and analyzing data from any SSI device (e.g. inertial and walking profilers, profilographs, dynamic and custom profilers). So if you learn one of our devices, you can operate them all with minimal additional training. Profiler 3 also has license controlled advanced features, such as 2D/3D land surveying, cross-slope, transverse profile, cameras and textures. SSI has additional programs for creating configurable data outputs for use in various third-party software applications (e.g. ProVal, surveying/CAD software, Lidar, GIS, Excel, ProFAA, and more). We also provide customers with SSI Validation Engine for comparing multiple data files for repeatability, accuracy, cross-correlation, waveband performance, ride values and GPS content assessment.

For ease of use, SSI’s end user software applications are developed to run seamlessly on Microsoft Windows® 10 Professional operating systems. Our software is optimized for touchscreen computers and tablets. Supplied with each SSI device is a Panasonic Toughbook rugged notebook tested under military specifications for durability. The Toughbook computer configured for high performance, typically with Intel i5 or i7 processors, large shock mounted or solid state hard drive, up to 16GB RAM, multiple interfaces (WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, Broadband, USB-3, and more) and a daylight readable LED touchscreen display.

Software supporting is critical.  Embedded in our programs are error logs and issue tracking, with details of program errors automatically sent to SSI when the end user’s computer is connected to the Internet.  We fix the issues one at a time, test the fix, and release both essential and scheduled version updates. Each time our customers open our software on a web-connected computer, the program checks for updates. The user can choose to quickly install the update right then and there.
